The Eye of the Storm

I won't pretend that I haven't been neglecting the blog just a little bit this past week but I kid you not, I have been swamped! Literally every second has been consumed with the craziness that was the last few days. I don't even know how to express all of the events of the past 72 hours, so bare with me if this post is completely scatterbrained and all over the place. (You are probably used to that if you know me in real life.)

Anthony's B-Day on Wednesday was a lot of fun! We went to a yummy dinner and went out afterward to one of our favorite local bars downtown. It was great. The only problem is that I was already sleepy before that night so another night of minimal sleep was not what the doctor ordered. I had to work early pretty much all week so I was already set back on the sleeplessness front. (I require a solid 9-10 hours a night to function at all cylindars. I am 8-years-old.)

Aside from work in general being CA-RAY-ZAY this week (was that enough emphasis for you?) I also may or may not have gone to the midnight showing of the new Twilight movie. In order to preserve my repuation, I will leave it up to you to decide if I really went to see New Moon on Thursday night at midnight with Lisa, Rochelle and Kristen or not. If I really did go, I probably enjoyed it and would probably say that though it was a bad movie, I loved it... just sayin. Ohhh and def didn't go to bed until after 3am. (Or did I?)

Before all that even happened, I had a wacktastic Thursday. 10 mins before work, I got a flat tire (second flat in less than 18 months, lovely) and Kristen had to take me to work. I also had to walk home from work, but luckily it was a nice evening for November. Then, upon attempting to change my tire, I had to call Anthony for help (THANK YOU ANT!) and once he had the car all jacked up, the jack broke in 2. HA! Murphy's Law, baby!
Ant was a dear and called a towing company who came over and changed the tire with their jack and all around saved the day. (Lawrencians: http://www.bulldogtow.com if you're ever in a bind. Fantastic service.) Anthony was the true hero that day, though!

Since all of the non-stop action finally ended in time for work on Friday, I felt the need to caffienate so I would have any remote possibility of being productive and staying awake. Have you SEEN me on caffiene? It's like a toddler on a sugar high, only 100 pounds heavier and "sugar" should probably be replaced with "speed." I was all over the place! 1 green tea and 1 coffee later, I couldn't even hardly operate the tiny keys on my blackberry... shakes, jitters, chatterboxing-- you name it. I could feel my heart beat in my head. DIS-aster.

The bright side: I got a lot done and still had enough energy to last me until 1am last night. FREAKING GREAT, BODY.

Now that all of the craziness has subdued for a bit (and the caffiene OD is slowly working itself out of my body), I am taking today as the eye of the storm, a time to relax and enjoy doing as little as possible. Tonight, Anthony and Tiffani are having their 23rd Birthday party, so I will have to get amped up again for that, but I have all day to let that soak in. Also, the Knipps are going to be here all day pretty much, so it will be a lot of fun!

With all of these late nights and hectic schedules... Thanksgiving can't come soon enough. Just gotta get through the 2 day work week next week (verrrry niiiiice) and I will be home free! Can't wait to see my STL homies in a few days!
