After my wonderfully relaxing week in STL, I went to Ant's hometown of Independence, MO for the weekend. We had a blasty!
The main event was on Saturday when we went to Weston, MO for a day of fall fun (despite the fact that it was barely 40 degrees and didn't really feel like fall at all)!
I am pleased to announce that Anthony lived up to his end of the pumpkin patch bargain and you all can get off his back about it now (ha! riiight).
We went to a place called Red Bard Farm and got our pumpkins and other assorted fall decor, as well as walked around the "petting zoo" which I believe would be more accurately labeled as a "small animal hell torture zoo" (but I guess the latter wouldn't really attract the kids, now would it?). I am not joking
On a lighter note... we picked out some great pumpkins and carved them that night. I was feeling uncreative and opted to use a carving stencil (though it ended up being a lot more work than it was worth... ask my blistered hand!) and Anthony decided to satirize society by carving a ; ) . So clever, that Anthony. Ant's dad Gregg made a cool scary face and Tiffani carved a friendly Frankenstein that ended up being really cute. I was loving it!
We also went to a winery during the day and had lunch at a little restaurant next door called "The Vineyard." So as not be to confused, The Vineyard is not actually a vineyard. It is a little restaurant in an old house which was completely adorable and the food was equally as delicious as the ambiance was cozy and quaint. We had a great time. Lots of wine was consumed and good times ensued.
Yesterday was a good time as well because we went to the Knipp's cousin's house for the birthday celebration of their cousins Philip and Ella. We played lots of wiffle ball and hung out with the fam. We finally had some fall-esque weather so that was reason enough to enjoy the day.
Today is another beautiful day and I plan on taking advantage of that. It is also my mom's birthday! Yay! Make sure you take time out to send her your wishes.
Halloween Update: Still not sure about my costume. If nothing else, I am thinking about being a Flapper. Thoughts? Ideas?
When I read your blog I feel like I don't need to call you. What do you think about that?
