The Halloweenie

With Halloween in just 2 days, I am getting pretttty excited. As mentioned before, I love dressing to theme, and on Halloween, you get to pick the theme!

I decided that I am going to be a flapper. The primary reason is because I already own a fringe dress from a party I went to this Septemeber, so I didn't really have to get a costume. Success!

I did, however, purchase a cheap wig and I can't decide if I want to wear it after all or not. I had a blast wearing a wig last year for my Pocahontas costume (see photo), but I don't know if I am feeling it this year or not. Guess you will just have to wait and see what I decide!

It goes without saying that I have chilled out with my costumes in recent years as opposed to the creative Halloween alter egos I took on in my youth.
In 4th grade I was a dog trainer. I was also a G.I. Joe or "army man" for 3 years in a row (note: specifically NOT G.I. Jane or "army girl") in elementary school. And I might have been a Hawaiian cheerleader somewhere in there (couldn't choose between hula girl or cheerleader, so I was both!). I've also been a lumberjack, shotgun bride, little-known r&b recording artist Toya, and trailer trash. Yee haw!

There's a photo of me as Hugh Hefner and Courtney as a flapper from a few years ago. I got my inspiration for this year from her!

What are you being for Halloween?

  1. I'd just like to point out that I'm not sure if "dog trainer" is an appropriate costume. Or profession, for that matter. You may as well have have just picked up a part-time job at Petsmart and just worn the uniform!
Also, remember that time you were something pretty and girly and I was a psycho killer..and your mom thought I was a cow? Ouch.
